RECOGNITION WITHIN THE SCHOOL
- Certificates for participation and prizes for top honors;
- Awards celebration with Ms. Trudel and members of the PTA;
- Only the artwork will move on; travel is not required for the competitions.
PIERCE PTA CELEBRATION
Pierce PTA will host a Pierce Reflections Recognition event for all students who submit an entry.
MATH PENTATHLON
Chairperson: Open
Kindergarten through 5th grades are invited to participate in Math Pentathlon. We get together weekly before school and play board games designed to enrich sportsmanship & critical thinking.
All Divisions will meet before school. Meetings will take place in the Pierce Media Center

Division 1 (Kindergarten & 1st Grade) - practice begins in November

Division II (2nd & 3rd Grade) - practice begins in October

Division III (4th & 5th Grade) - practice begins in November
Participants will have the opportunity to attend the national Math Pentathlon tournament held locally at the end of the season. Tournament participation is not required. However, if your child would like to participate in the tournament, parent participation is required. For more information please refer to the the Math Pentathlon website.

Experience has shown that children whose parents play the games at home are more successful in learning the games. Grade specific games are available for purchase at www.mathpentath.org.
